Turn a Client Brief Into a Facebook Campaign With AI
Paste a client brief and have AdChat build the campaign, ad sets and ads with your naming, budget setup and placements. Everything starts paused for you to check.
Updated October 24, 2026
When you run ads for clients, most launches look the same. A brief comes in, you translate it into a campaign, ad sets and ads, you name everything the way you always do, and you double-check the settings because one wrong placement or budget is a bad conversation later. AdChat can do the translating and building from the brief you already have. You keep the checking.
Who this is for
Freelancers and small agencies launching campaigns for clients, and in-house marketers who work from a brief.
What you need
- AdChat connected with the client's ad account. The plan covers up to 3 ad accounts. See multiple ad accounts.
- Write access turned on for step 4 onwards. See turn on write access.
- The brief: product, goal, budget, dates, audience, markets, and the ad copy and image links if the client has supplied them.
- Your naming convention, if you have one.
- The Page and Pixel the client wants to use.
Step 1: Give the AI the brief and your rules
Paste the brief as it is, then add how you like things built. Saving this as a note you reuse saves typing every time.
Here's a client brief. Build a campaign plan from it, but don't create anything yet.
[paste brief]
My rules:
- Naming: Client | Objective | Market | Date for campaigns, Audience | Placement for ad sets, Angle | Format | v1 for ads
- Budget on the campaign unless the brief asks for fixed spend per audience
- Advantage+ placements unless the brief says otherwise
- Everything created paused
Step 2: Check the plan against the brief
What a good answer looks like: a tree of campaign, ad sets and ads with names, budgets, targeting, placements, dates and which copy goes where. Also a list of anything the brief didn't say, like "The brief doesn't give an end date. Should this run until the budget is spent?"
Read it next to the brief. Fix what's off:
The client wants Canada run as its own campaign with a fixed $15 a day. Change that.
Step 3: Check the audiences
Estimate the audience size for each ad set.
If one comes back tiny, now's the time to widen it, before the client sees results.
Step 4: Build it, paused
Build the campaign exactly as planned. Keep everything paused.
AdChat creates the campaign with create_campaign, the ad sets with create_adset, uploads images from links with upload_ad_image, builds the creatives with create_ad_creative and adds the ads with create_ad. Everything is created paused. In the built-in chat, the AI lists each change and waits for your yes. In Claude, set write tools to "Needs approval" to get the same.
Step 5: Review before you launch
Show me everything you just created in a table: names, status, budgets, targeting, placements, schedule, Page, link and button for each ad.
Then open Ads Manager and check the previews yourself, especially:
- Special ad categories. Housing, employment, credit, and social or political ads have their own rules. Check the campaign is set up correctly if the client's ads fall into one of these.
- Links and UTM tags. One wrong link is hard to explain later.
- The Page and Instagram account. Easy to get wrong if you manage several.
When it's right:
Turn on the campaign and all its ad sets and ads.
Or turn them on yourself in Ads Manager.
What to do next
- Send the client a summary: "Write a short launch note for the client: what's live, the budget, and when we'll report back."
- Set up a weekly report for each client.
- More on running several clients: freelancers and small agencies.
Common mistakes
- Skipping the plan step. Always have the AI show the structure before it builds. Fixing a plan takes one message. Fixing a built campaign takes several.
- Unclear briefs. If the brief is vague, the plan will be too. Answer the AI's questions rather than letting it guess.
- The wrong ad account. If you connected several clients, name the account in your first message.
- Launching without a look in Ads Manager. The AI builds what it was told. The preview shows what people will actually see.
FAQ
Can AdChat copy my last campaign for a new client? Not in one step. AdChat doesn't do duplication or bulk edits. You can ask it to read the old campaign's settings and build a new one the same way.
Can it upload the client's videos? No. It can use videos that are already in the ad account. Upload new ones in Ads Manager first.
Does it work for lead ads? It can build creatives that use a lead form that already exists in the account. Create the form itself in Meta.
Can my client use AdChat too? Each person needs their own AdChat account. There are no team seats yet.
