Facebook Ads MCP: Ask AI About Your Facebook & Instagram Ads

Use a Facebook Ads MCP to ask Claude or ChatGPT about your Facebook and Instagram ads in plain English. What you can ask, what it can change, and setup.

Updated October 24, 2026

If you run ads on Facebook or Instagram, a Facebook Ads MCP gives your AI assistant a direct line to your ad account. You stop exporting spreadsheets and start asking questions like "which Instagram placement is cheapest for me?" This page skips the theory and focuses on the jobs you can hand over, with prompts you can paste straight into Claude, ChatGPT or AdChat's own chat.

Facebook Ads MCP, Instagram Ads MCP, Meta Ads MCP: same thing

Facebook and Instagram ads are both run from Meta Ads Manager, using the same ad accounts. So a "Facebook Ads MCP", an "Instagram Ads MCP" and a "Meta Ads MCP" all mean the same kind of tool: an MCP server that connects an AI app to your Meta ad account. MCP (Model Context Protocol) is simply the standard that lets AI apps use outside tools. AdChat is one of these servers, built only for Meta.

Job 1: Find out what's working and what isn't

This is where most people start. AdChat reads results for your whole account or any campaign, ad set or ad, over any date range.

What did I spend on Facebook and Instagram ads last month, and what did I get for it?

Rank my active ads by cost per purchase over the last 14 days. Flag anything twice as expensive as the average.

Which campaign improved the most compared to the previous 7 days?

Job 2: Compare Facebook vs Instagram

AdChat can break results down by placement, age, gender, country and more, so you can see where your money actually goes.

Split my results by platform and placement for the last 30 days. Is Instagram Reels cheaper than the Facebook feed for me?

Which age group and gender bring the cheapest leads?

Job 3: Understand your creatives

The AI can pull your ads and creatives, including their text, images and video details, and line them up against results.

Show me my top 5 ads by click-through rate this month and tell me what their copy and creative have in common.

Which ad's results have dropped the most over the last two weeks? Could it be creative fatigue?

Write 5 new headlines in the style of my best-performing ad.

Job 4: Plan targeting

AdChat can search Meta's interests, behaviors, demographics and locations, suggest related interests, and estimate how many people an audience would reach.

I sell yoga mats in Canada. Suggest interests and behaviors to target and estimate the audience size.

Find the location for Austin, Texas, and tell me how big a 25 to 44 audience there would be with an interest in fitness.

Job 5: Make changes (when you allow it)

AdChat is read-only until you turn on Write Access in your dashboard. Once it's on, the AI can create and edit campaigns, ad sets, ads and creatives, change budgets and targeting, upload images (attach one in the chat or paste a link), schedule budget changes, and build website, lookalike and engagement audiences.

Pause every ad in my "Spring sale" campaign.

Raise the daily budget on my best ad set by 20%.

Create a lookalike audience from my website visitors in the US.

Create an Instagram ad using this image URL and my existing campaign "Retargeting". Keep it paused.

New campaigns, ad sets and ads are created paused by default. AdChat only acts when you ask, never on its own. In the built-in chat, it shows the exact change and asks you to confirm first.

What it can't do: duplicate campaigns, bulk-edit, upload videos or customer lists, or work with other platforms. See the full tool list.

How to connect it

  1. Sign up for AdChat (7 days free, no card) and connect Facebook. Pick up to 3 ad accounts.
  2. Copy the server URL https://mcp.adchat.app from your dashboard.
  3. Add it to your app with the guide for Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or Claude Code. The first time, a browser window opens: sign in to AdChat and click Allow.

Or skip steps 2 and 3 and use the built-in chat at adchat.app. For a deeper walk-through, read Meta Ads MCP server: what it is and how AdChat's works.

What about Meta's own server?

Meta now runs its own free Ads MCP in open beta. It is being switched on account by account, so not everyone has it yet. AdChat works on any ad account you can manage in Ads Manager today. You can use both side by side. Here's a direct comparison.

FAQ

Is there an Instagram Ads MCP?

Instagram ads are managed through Meta's ad system, so any Meta Ads MCP covers them. AdChat reads and manages Instagram ads the same way it handles Facebook ads.

Can I use it with my regular Instagram account?

AdChat works with Meta ad accounts, not organic posting. You can, however, create an ad from an existing post once write access is on.

Do I need a Facebook developer app or token?

No. You log in with Facebook inside AdChat and it handles the connection. Your token is stored encrypted.

Will it post or spend money without me?

No. It's read-only by default, it only acts on your request, and new campaigns and ads start paused.

What does it cost?

7 days free, then $19 a month or $190 a year. See pricing.
