10 Questions to Ask Your Facebook Ads AI (Copy and Paste)

Ten ready-to-paste prompts for AdChat in Claude, ChatGPT or the built-in chat, from a quick performance check to creating a paused campaign.

Updated October 24, 2026

You've connected AdChat. Now what? This page gives you ten questions you can copy, paste and send right away. They start with simple checks and build up to making changes. Each one notes what AdChat does behind the scenes and what kind of answer to expect.

These work the same in Claude, ChatGPT, the built-in chat and any other MCP app. Feel free to change the dates, names and numbers.

Before you start

  • If you have more than one ad account connected, say which one: "In my Acme Store account, ...". You can also set a default ad account and date range in your AdChat dashboard under AI settings.
  • Questions 1 to 7 only read data. They work with AdChat's default read-only setting.
  • Questions 8 to 10 make changes. They need Write Access turned on. See Turn on write access.

1. Get the big picture

Give me a quick overview of my Facebook ads for the last 7 days: total spend, results, cost per result, and the top 3 and bottom 3 campaigns.

Behind the scenes: get_campaigns and get_insights at the campaign level. What to expect: A short summary with a small table. A good daily or weekly check-in.

2. Find wasted spend

Which campaigns, ad sets or ads spent money in the last 14 days but got few or no results? Rank them by wasted spend and tell me what you'd do with each.

Behind the scenes: get_insights across campaigns, ad sets and ads. What to expect: A list of the worst offenders with spend and results, and suggestions like pausing or lowering budget. Nothing changes unless you ask.

3. Compare this week with last week

Compare this week with last week for my whole account. What went up, what went down, and what's the most likely reason?

Behind the scenes: get_insights for two date ranges. What to expect: Side-by-side numbers for spend, CPM, CTR, cost per result and conversions, with the biggest changes called out.

4. Spot tired ads

Which of my active ads are showing signs of fatigue? Look at frequency, CTR trend and cost per result over the last 30 days.

Behind the scenes: get_ads and get_insights with daily data. What to expect: Ads with rising frequency and falling CTR flagged as candidates to refresh, with the numbers to back it up.

5. See who's responding

Break down my last 30 days of results by age, gender and placement. Where am I getting the cheapest results, and where am I overpaying?

Behind the scenes: get_insights with breakdowns. What to expect: Tables by segment and a plain-English summary like "Instagram Stories for women 25 to 34 is your cheapest placement."

6. Check what your best ad looks like

Show me my best-performing ad from the last 30 days: the image or video, headline, text and call to action. Then explain why you think it works.

Behind the scenes: get_ad_details, get_creative_details and get_ad_image. What to expect: The creative details and a short breakdown of what makes it work, which is useful when you write the next ad.

7. Size up a new audience

I want to target women aged 30 to 55 in the United States who are interested in yoga and healthy eating. Find the matching interests and estimate how big that audience is.

Behind the scenes: search_interests, search_geo_locations and estimate_audience_size. What to expect: The exact Meta interests it found and an estimated audience size, so you know if it's too narrow or too broad before spending anything.

8. Pause what's not working

Pause the ads that spent more than $50 in the last 7 days with zero purchases. List them first and wait for my OK.

Behind the scenes: get_insights, then update_ad to set the status to paused. What to expect: A list of the ads it plans to pause. It should wait for your yes before changing anything. In Claude, setting write tools to "Needs approval" adds a second check.

9. Move budget to a winner

My campaign "Spring Sale" is doing well. Increase its daily budget by 20% and show me the old and new budget before you change it.

Behind the scenes: get_campaign_details, then update_campaign. What to expect: A before-and-after budget, a confirmation question, then the change.

10. Create a new campaign (paused)

Create a new traffic campaign called "Autumn Test" with a $20 daily budget, targeting women 25 to 45 in Canada who are interested in home decor. Use my best-performing image from the last 30 days. Keep everything paused so I can review it.

Behind the scenes: create_campaign, create_adset, create_ad_creative and create_ad, plus the targeting search tools. What to expect: A summary of everything it will create, then a new campaign, ad set and ad, all paused. Open Ads Manager, check it, and turn it on yourself when you're happy.

Tips for better answers

  • Give a date range. "Last 7 days" or "October 1 to 15" gives more precise answers than "recently".
  • Say what a result is. If you care about purchases, leads or messages, say so.
  • Ask why. Follow up with "Why do you think that happened?" or "What would you test next?"
  • Ask for a table. "Show it as a table" makes numbers easier to scan.
  • Ask for a report. "Make me a weekly report I can send to my client" uses AdChat's report tool.

What AdChat can't do (yet)

AdChat doesn't do bulk edits, campaign duplication, video uploads or customer-list uploads, and it only works with Meta ads. If you ask for one of these, the AI should tell you it isn't available.

FAQ

Will these prompts change my ads? Only 8, 9 and 10, and only with write access turned on. You'll be asked to confirm first.

The numbers don't match Ads Manager. Check the date range and attribution setting. Ask AdChat to tell you which dates and settings it used.
